ODDC invites applicants to submit proposals for the following project:

Public
Awareness: Events - $40,000- $50,000
The grant award is contingent upon the availability of federal funds. Applicants must provide cash or in-kind “matching” funds of 33.33% in non-poverty areas and 11.11% in poverty areas.

stamped and received by 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2009, at the Council
office located at 8 East Long Street,

Federal Award: $40,000 - $50,000.00
Minimum matching requirements:
Non-poverty Area: $13,333 - $16,667
Poverty Area: $4,444 - $5,556
A
three-year grant to plan and implement an Annual DD
Council Conference to promote awareness of Council and to educate the public,
or target audience, about a major disability issue. Grantee may also assist in
planning two other events per year. Events include meals, scholarships, documents
in alternative formats, and nationally known speakers.
In an effort to build effective collaboration, Council’s Public Awareness Sub-committee will do the following:
ü serve as the planning committee for the conference,
ü determine if other outside experts should be a part of conference/event planning meeting,
ü determine if the event will be for one or two days,
ü decide on the topic of the event, and
ü assist with planning two other events per year for Council.
