Services for Indepdent Living, with support from the Ohio DD Council, invite you to join others for a day of thoughtful discussion on ways to address barriers to transportation faced by many persons with disabilities and older adults in our communities.

The event will be held at Cuyahoga County Public Library-Parma Snow Branch, 2121 Snow Road, Parma, Ohio. Lunch will be provided.

At the event you will:

  • LEARN about local and state initiatives to enhance transportation options for persons with disabilities.
  • HEAR about developing, effective strategies to impact local and state policy to address transportation barriers.
  • IDENTIFY steps you can take to move the transportation conversation forward!

The SIL is thrilled to have nationally recognized transportation advocate Carol Tyson at the event. Carol is the Government Affairs Liaison for DREDF (Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund) in Washington DC where she meets with and informs Congressional and federal agency staff about policy issues which advance legislation benefiting the disability community. Prior to joining DREDF, Carol was Director of Disability Policy for United Spinal Association, serving on numerous task forces and working with groups to eliminate barriers to transportation and bicycle and pedestrian safety.
