Notice of Fund Available (NOFA)

One of the primary purposes of the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council is to offer grant opportunities for interested organizations and individuals to apply.

Competitive Grant Announcements

New grant opportunities begin the process with the issuance of a Notice of Funds Available (NOFA). A NOFA is much like a Request for Proposals (RFP). When a NOFA is issued by the Ohio DD Council, we announce it on our website, the DD Suite grant application website, the Council's Facebook and Twitter pages, and by email. To be notified of new NOFAs, please subscribe to receive email notifications.

Discretionary Fund Requests

The Ohio DD Council also has a Discretionary Fund available for people and organizations who send Council specific funding requests. Requests for this type of funding are accepted throughout the year. Go to the DD Suite grant application website to learn more on how to apply for a Discretionary Fund Request.Image with words Notice of Funds Available and Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council

How to Apply for a Competitive Grant

Applications are accepted from our grant management program, DD Suite. Before you apply in DD Suite though, we strongly recommend that you review the grant proposal NOFA and Council's State Plan Proposal Kit for the following information:

  • Goals describing the purpose for the grant program;
  • Eligibility requirements;
  • Description of the project activities and outcomes;
  • Application instructions;
  • Application requirements and restrictions; and
  • Selection criteria and the process to evaluate grant proposals and select proposals for awards.

Please note that a proposal which is submitted in a format that is substantially different from the Council’s format will not be considered. In addition, proposals received after the closing date will not be considered, unless an exception is approved. The executive director is authorized to approve requests for exceptions for good cause received prior to the closing date. Exceptions requested after the closing date may be approved only by the Executive Committee. Any exceptions shall be documented in writing and retained as part of the grant application file.
