Web Accessibility

The Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council (Ohio DD Council) has taken steps to ensure that its website (www.ddc.ohio.gov) is at least minimally accessible to people with disabilities who use assistive technology to access the Internet.

Ohio DD Council complies with State of Ohio IT Policy - Web Site Accessibility, ITP-F.3, issued by the Ohio Office of Information Technology. This policy establishes minimum website accessibility requirements for information and services provided on state-controlled websites. The requirements include compliance with the accessibility standards of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. These standards are detailed in Section 1194.22 of the Code of Federal Regulations (Web-based intranet and internet information and applications). Ohio DD Council also follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 which are standards created by the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
