In Washington

On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, the House Education and Labor Committee will be holding a Joint Subcommittee Hearing entitled, “Care for Our Communities; Investing in the Direct Care Workforce.” The hearing will occur on Zoom at 10:15 a.m. Scheduled to testify are: Robert Espinoza (PHI), Zulma Torres (Cooperative Home Care Associates), Paul Burani (Udacity, Inc.), and state Representative Jessica Fay (Maine).

On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, the House Education and Labor Committee will be holding a Joint Subcommittee Hearing entitled, “Phasing Out Subminimum Wages: Supporting the Transition to Competitive Integrated Employment for Workers with Disabilities.” The hearing will occur on Zoom at 10:15 a.m. Scheduled to testify are: Nantanee Koppstein (NJ SILC), John Anton (Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress), Matthew Putts (Employment Horizons, Inc.), and Anil Lewis (National Federation of the Blind).
