The core of the work of the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council is to offer grant opportunities that will improve services and supports so that Ohioans with developmental disabilities can live self-determined and independent lives. Our members and staff, along with input from the public, identify problems or needs that should be addressed. The issues fall into many areas: children, health, community living, leadership developmental, employment, outreach and public policy. The issues to look into are agreed upon by Council members and identified in the Ohio DD Council's State Plan that is used to create specific grant proposals. When new grants are available, the Ohio DD Council will announce it by issuing a Notice of Funds Available (NOFA). The Ohio DD Council currently administers more than 25 projects.
