On Tuesday, February 12, Ohio Senator Matt Dolan re-introduced legislation from the last General Assembly that would eliminate any Medicaid copayment for services for an individual with a developmental disability or a mental illness and any individual whose sole income is based on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability (SSDI). The Senate Health, Human Services and Medicaid Committee heard SPONSOR testimony on the bill (Senate Bill 29) on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
Finally, on February 15, 2019, all federal appropriations bills for the 2019 Federal Fiscal Year that started on October 1, 2018, have been passed and approved. No more talk of shutdowns until October 1, 2019.

On Tuesday, February 19th, 2019, the Senate Health, Human Services and Medicaid Committee has scheduled PROPONENT TESTIMONY on Senate Bill 29 (Dolan – Medicaid CoPayments). The bill would eliminate the requirement to pay a Medicaid co-payment for individuals with developmental disabilities and others whose sole source of income is SSI or SSDI or both. Anyone wishing to testify in support of this bill may do so at this hearing. The hearing will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19th, in the South Hearing Room of the Ohio Senate Building.
The House Finance Committee has scheduled the State Transportation Budget for multiple hearings next week. On Tuesday, February 19th, the committee will hear ALL Testimony beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Room 313 of the Ohio Statehouse. On Wednesday, February 20th, 2019, the committee will hear ALL Testimony beginning at 9:00 a.m. in Room 313 of the Ohio Statehouse. The committee has also scheduled a hearing for Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. for ALL Testimony in Room 313 of the Ohio Statehouse and to accept a substitute bill. House Bill 62 (Oelslager - Transportation Budget) was introduced with placeholder language.
